It is absolutely certain that you can create your own good luck – because it has been proven that “being lucky” is largely a matter of attitude – that is, people who consider themselves lucky are known to acknowledge their good luck, feel gratitude for their good fortune, believe that they are in control of their lives, and finally, constantly take action toward making their dreams and goals a reality.
It really is that simple.
Of course, everyone knows of people who were born lucky, or stumbled onto a pot of gold – those conditions, of course, exist, but they are statistically as rare as lightning strikes, or, if you will, winning the lottery.
And the splashy stories of blind luck disguise the fact that a huge portion of the population still consider themselves lucky – and lead happy, fortune-filled lives, mainly because they have the right attitudes, in a specific combination, that continue to help them create the lives they desire.
That’s the purpose of this course – to help you understand the process of “being lucky,” and more important, to give you the tools and repetition necessary to help you, literally, create your own luck in the next 40 days.
The first step is to have some fun. Please check out a little form called “The Good Luck Audit.” It is a simple affair, with blank spaces for 100 items you should fill out, as quickly as possible. In the spaces on the left-hand column, write down, as quickly as you can, 100 instances of good luck in your life. In the right-hand column, write down how that instance of good luck helped you – the feeling it gave you, the opportunity it provided. (There is a logic to this – as lucky events are neutral in themselves. If we get a job, that’s great, but what it means is more important, i.e., an opportunity to grow in your career, to learn more skills, to be self-sufficient, etc. The point is to learn how to connect simple events and things to the feelings they represent – this is a crucial element in understanding how luck works, and also, in getting excited about creating more of it.)
So go ahead! What are you waiting for? If you can, download and print out The Good Luck Audit. If that’s not convenient right now, get out a piece of paper or your note-taking app on your device and make a list of 100 lucky events that have occurred in your life. In no time at tall, you are going to realize you are far luckier than you may have been thinking, and you will be generating that “lucky feeling” that you can indeed create your own luck!
