Family restaurants used to have a tradition where they would close one week out of the year, to take some time for themselves.
And their local clientele understood. In some cases it was the charm of the place that the family took off for Christmas or summer vacation.
But if you haven’t built up decades of good will?
And don’t have a loyal customer base?
In the digital environment, you might be missed for a second, but then people will move on.
I just helped a client refresh her message after using the same one for a couple years. Then all she’ll have to do is her monthly advertising to keep clients coming in.
Sometimes that’s all it takes. But you do have to put the effort in or people will think of you one day and say, “I wonder what happened to that place …”
