The Buffalo Bills were down 35-3 when their quarterback tapped out.
A sturdy, but not spectacular backup was sent onto the field, with the idea he would endure the rest of the contest until the inevitable loss.
It didn’t happen that way.
Instead, Frank Reich, the backup, engineered a 41-38 victory, in what is still the greatest comeback in NFL history
What makes the story even more remarkable?
Reich did nearly the same exact thing as a college quarterback nine years earlier.
In that contest he started behind 31-0, and put together a 42-40 win.
There were many keys to Reich’s performance, on both occasions.
On the second go-round, however, he had the memory of how to engineer that kind of come from behind triumph.
Reich was able to tap into that memory, and do the same exact thing – as if it were normal.
This is the kind of skill we develop in the Magic Mirror of the Mind – the ability to envision an outcome, no matter how unlikely, and make it seem like it should have turned out that way all along.
And the great thing, what makes it so easy, is that every single person has a treasure trove of previous victories they can call upon, to get their mind and emotion in the right frame to tackle any challenge facing them today.
Recalling previous victories, and using them to fuel our current goals, is the topic of this Wednesday’s telcon. It kicks off at 2:30 PM EST.
You’ll want to register before the call begins. No matter what you’re working on right now, this skill is like rocket fuel for your dreams.
