If you want to really serve your customers, you have to charge them.
If you want your customers to get the benefit of your solution, you have to accept their money in exchange.
Because customers are people. And people behave in funny ways.
When people get things for free, they don’t value them. When there is too much of something, they dismiss its importance.
When something is thrust in their hands by a desperate looking person, they toss it in the nearest trash can.
(If you’ve ever been accosted by someone handing out playbills in Manhattan you know exactly what I Am talking about.)
So because customers are people, and because we know people act in certain ways, we have to run our business in such a way that truly helps the people we say we want to help.
In this case, it means charging your customers money for your product or solution.
When you charge your customers money, they will have a reason to use your material.
They will read your book to the end. If only “to get their money’s worth.”
And when they use your product the way you have intended, they will suddenly get their solution.
And they will appreciate you.
In my opinion, that’s a real relationship.
Built on money?
Not really.
It has more to do with your courage and wisdom into the psychology of the people you want to help.
Have the courage to make it real.
